Navigating CBAM for Indian Exporters is a virtual industry webinar scheduled for 25 May 2026, organized by Ploxi and co-organized by SEPC and MEAI. The webinar aims to help Indian exporters understand the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and prepare for upcoming compliance requirements. It will cover CBAM regulations and timelines, emissions reporting, compliance processes, decarbonization strategies, and sector-specific impacts on industries such as steel, aluminium, chemicals, and manufacturing. The session is designed for exporters, sustainability professionals, compliance teams, and businesses supplying to EU markets.
The ICAO ESAF/WACAF & EASA SAF Workshop highlighted the accelerating momentum around Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) across the African aviation sector. Bringing together regulators, civil aviation authorities, industry stakeholders, financiers, technical experts, and project developers, the event created an important platform to move the conversation from ambition to implementation. With more than 80 on-site participants in Kigali, Rwanda and over 300 online participants from across the continent, the strong engagement underlined both the strategic relevance of SAF for Africa and the growing focus on creating commercially viable and scalable projects.
Organised by the Department of Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering at Manipal University Jaipur, ICAST 2026 brings together researchers, academics and industry professionals to explore solutions across green hydrogen, sustainable aviation fuels, critical minerals, circular economy and AI-driven process technologies. The programme features keynote addresses, oral and poster presentations, panel discussions and industry exhibitions.
This session about "Scaling SAF in Africa: Technology choices, regional DSL overview and key required action" brings together project developers and civil aviation authorities from Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire and Kenya to share concrete, on-the-ground experience – from technology and feedstock choices to commercial structuring, to the government support needed to move projects from concept to reality. The discussion will close with AFCAC's perspective on regional coordination and the key actions needed to scale SAF across the continent.

Sustainability ambitions in MedTech are increasingly linked to the use of alternative and circular materials. However, their application raises critical questions around material safety, regulatory compliance and long-term risk.
At CBR, we are particularly interested in how these developments impact biocompatibility and toxicological assessment. As sustainability moves beyond design and sourcing, it is becoming a key challenge for safety evaluation and risk management.
This event provides a relevant platform to explore which questions, risks and regulatory considerations are emerging around recycled materials in medical devices – and how biocompatibility expertise can enable safe and compliant circular solutions.
Our project manager Andreas Egloff will be on site and takes an active part as speaker, discussing the challenges at the intercept on sustainability and biocompatibility in MedTech.

The workshop demonstrated how complex SAF concepts can be translated into practical, country-specific project strategies. The most strategically relevant topics were Direct Supply Line development, certification readiness and project bankability — three areas that frequently determine whether SAF potential becomes an investable project. CBR’s contribution as part of the training team strengthened its position in applied SAF capacity building and thought leadership, while generating valuable insights into the priorities and challenges faced by African aviation authorities. The training also helped shape an outlook for each participating country, covering SAF feasibility, policy development, supply-chain structuring and investment readiness.

Representing CBR at the workshop are Christoph Behrendt-Rieken, Managing Director with deep expertise in renewable fuel regulatory, commercial and technology matters; Raphaela Spielberg, Senior Consultant focused on sustainability and ESG concept development; and Nipun Jagtap, Technology Expert specialising in the techno-economic assessment of renewable fuel production processes. Together, the team delivers presentations on feedstock, financing, Direct Supply Lines, certification and policy, and facilitates participants through the “Create Your SAF Case” simulator to develop their own country-specific SAF strategies.
